According to Corey Brock of MLB.com, San Diego Padres SP Jake Peavy has been named the National League Cy Young award winner.
In 34 starts this season for the Padres, Peavy led the National League in just about every pertinent category in 2007 — victories (19), ERA (2.54), strikeouts (240) and strikeouts per nine innings (9.67). Peavy also started the All-Star Game in July in San Francisco.
