The Philadelphia Daily News reports that after missing out on Curt Schilling and with it appearing that Mariano Rivera may re-sign with the Yankees, they have turned their sights to star Japanese pitcher Hiroki Kuroda.

Kuroda was 12-8 with a 3.56 earned run average for the Hiroshima Carp last season. He led Japan’s Central League with a 1.85 earned run average in 2006 and has 74 complete games in 244 career starts and will not require a posting fee.

The Dodgers have interest as well, reports the LA Daily News.

Koruda is expected to command a three-year deal between $21 and $24 million.
