Dana Brand's book “Mets Fan” is a great, heartfelt collection of essays on the things that matter most to Mets Fans. Dana muses on everything from the Home Run Apple, to the sound of jets overhead to Keith Hernandez and the Seinfeld
connection. The central theme of Dana's wonderful book is the sometimes
humorous, sometimes painful experience of being a fan of the New York Mets.

I have a copy of the book and I have not been able to put it down. The short essays make for great reading either in its entirety or a few subjects at a time, making it a book you can dive into and enjoy no matter how busy your life happens to be. Dana pours his blue and orange soul out all over this book, and we can all relate to the collective experience we share as Mets fans that Dana so eloquently describes in many different ways.

Dana spoke with Matt Cerrone and I on Mets Blog Radio last week about “Mets Fan” You can listen to the episode using the player on the left sidebar.

Dana has been kind enough to give me a copy of the book to give away to one lucky Hot Foot reader. A poll will be posted on Sunday at noon, where readers will vote on who the felt contributed the best comments on Hot Foot over the past week. The commenter who readers vote as the best commenter on Hot Foot will win a copy of Dana's book.
