For those who might have missed it, Jeff Pearlman over at ESPN.com has a nice article on former Met Ed Hearn.  Hearn was the backup catcher on the 86 World Series team, and chances are that you, much like me, knew very little of him beyond that.  The article talks of Hearns struggles over the years since he left the Mets in the trade for David Cone.

I had known a little about Hearns health problems, primarily from Pearlman's book on the 86 team.  While its tragic to hear everything he's been through, Hearn has continued to fight on. He's always been one of those guys that I knew little beyond 'he was a Met', and Pearlman did an excellent job showing us the real Ed Hearn.
