WFAN reports that Joe Girardi won the National League Manager of the Year, while Jim Leyland won the American League Manager of the Year.

Willie Randolph finished second in the voting with eight first-place votes, while Bruce Bochy finished third with five first-place votes.

I can't be as angry about this one as Omar's snub, as Girardi did quite a job with the Marlins this year. I think Willie did a tremendous job turning this franchise around, but with a good deal of help from Omar. Willie is the perfect fit for the Mets and i'm delighted to have him, far more than I was initially when he was announced two years ago.

I was hesitant to embrace Willie as I felt he was a Yankee, and I wanted the Mets to put their own stamp on the future of the franchise. Willie has grown on me, and his roots in Brooklyn and being a Mets fan growing up endear me to him more, as well as his playful yet stern demeanor. He can be cagey with the press, which is fun to watch. He knows how to deal with the New York media as well as anyone and you can see that his players respect him and genuinely enjoy playing for him.
