Veteran New York Mets' outfielder Cliff Floyd will miss the rest of his
team's playoff run due to an Achilles tendon injury, according to a
report in the New York Daily News, reports Fox Sports
funny, i can't find the report on The Daily News today. in any event, I hope this isn't true. i really wanted to see Cliff on the field for the playoffs, for sentimental reasons. my head does tell me that we can now put Endy Chavez out there who is a sparkplug in the form of a mini-Reyes, and a gold glove outfielder if he played enough games to qualify. so, get well Cliff, but if you can't go, we will still have a solid replacement and you'll be the first guy i'd want to see sip the champange once again if we go all the way.
